Century 2nd Graders Create Balloons Over Broadway
  • CENTURY

In what has become a tradition at Century, the whole school lines the hallways for a parade on the day before Thanksgiving break. This parade features the second-grade classes, who have been working on creating a balloon inspired by the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, held every year in New York City.

  • MATHEWS

This week, the Mathews community celebrated each other with a parade. With help from the city of Nixa and the high school, everyone had fun seeing all the great things our community has to offer, from our high school sports teams to the Crimson Corps marching band to our school police officers, the JROTC, the FFA, and our Nixa Cheerleaders.

Literacy and Family Engagement On The Rise at Inman 📚

A building-wide goal this year at Inman was to increase literacy and family engagement. After brainstorming, they came up with an idea to promote literacy by offering an Inman version of the district wide initiative, One Nixa Reads, calling it One Inman Reads. Every quarter, parents are notified about a book the whole school is reading. If the kids participate and read the book, they then take a short quiz on the book. If they pass, they get a stamp on their passport. If they fill out the passport completely, they will get to enjoy an ice cream party at the end of the school year. The initiative is paying off as kids are reading more and parents are more engaged in their children's learning.
