Male Teachers in Elementary Classrooms 🦅
  • ESPY

A unique feature of today’s elementary classrooms, Espy Elementary is home to one male teacher in each grade from first through fourth. First-grade teacher Josh Gasser recalls a time when he began teaching at Espy as the only male educator in the building. Today, these teachers are proud to serve as positive male role models for Nixa students, adding valuable perspective and representation to the learning environment.

Mathews Students 3D Print for Therapy 🤗
  • MATHEWS

Three years ago, Mathews Elementary acquired a 3D Printer. Librarian Emalie Lindsey started a club with interested 4th graders, who initially learned the basics of 3D printing. This past year, her club worked on projects that benefit students who need a little extra help with basic tasks. The results have been amazing as students learn to help others, and those who need help benefit from the new skills the children have learned.

Nixa High School Students Work on Project For Kids They Will Never Meet

About ten years ago, art teacher Ryan Widel heard about a project where students in underserved countries send photos and a short description of themselves to art teachers and students who, in turn, take the information and create a picture of the child. The “Memory Project” aims to help children feel valued and important, knowing that someone cares about them. Thank you to the Nixa Education Foundation for your help in making this dream a reality.
